15M

3ºTrimestre

En este trimestre hemos dedicado varios dias a hablar sobre la noticia del 15M.
El Movimiento de indignados 15-M es un movimiento ciudadano vigente en España desde el día 15 de mayo de 2011 con la intención de promover una democracia más participativa alejada del práctico bipartidismo PSOE-PP y dominio de bancos y corporaciones, así como la auténtica división de poderes y otras medidas democráticas. Reúne a parados, mileuristas, amas de casa, inmigrantes y ciudadanos en general con un lema: «No somos marionetas en manos de políticos y banqueros» o «Democracia real ¡YA! No somos mercancía en manos de políticos y banqueros».
Actualmente el movimiento está formado por diversas comisiones y grupos de trabajo. Comisiones: Legal, Acción, Actividades, Barrios, Estatal e Internacional, Información, Infraestructuras, Lenguas de Signos. Grupos de Trabajo: Cultura, Educación, Política, Economía, Medio Ambiente, Trabajo Social, Feminismos, Ciencia y Tecnología, Diálogo entre Religiones, Migración y Movilidad, Pensamiento.

Desde primera hora de la mañana recogen los cartones y barren la zona e incluso se organizan con los trabajadores de la empresa municipal de limpieza para que todo esté limpio porque, como muchos aseguran, "esto no es un botellón". De hecho, hay carteles que los prohiben.

El 15M no está levado por ningún líder y es representado por un gupo de personas que expone las quejas y opiniones de todo el movimiento.
Aún es pronto para saber si serán escuchadas sus reivindicaciones, pero si parece darse una combinación de los factores necesarios para que eso ocurra: organización, respeto y limpieza.

3º Trimestre

In this cartoon there was a men that wanted to enter in the politic world but he musn't the left his ethics in the ribbish.
Questions about the cartoon.

1) What message is the cartoon trying to convery? Why does politics appear on a door and ethics on a trashbon?
The cartoon is trying to convery that if you want to be a politician you must to throw your ethics on the rubbish.

2) What is your opinion about this messsage?
I think that everybody have their opinion and if they want to be good politician they must to be theyself and believe in their ethics.

3) What is your opinion abou the relattionship between ethics and politics?
I think that you can be a good politic with your ethics if it are right.

Cartoon about Golden Rule

3º Trimestre

Today we maked a work about Golden Rule. In this cartoon was based of Jonh Calvin and Tomas Hobbes.
Questions about the cartoon:

1)Briefly summerize the cartoon strip.
A tiger is with a boy, and the boy said to the tiger that he doesn't believe in ethics and the tiger sould the valves of the ethics.

2) Explain the meaning of Hobbe's quote in the second last drawing.
The tiger show the boy that the ethics are important and necessary.

3) What's the relationship between the cartoon story and the Golden Rule.
The Golden Rule is the right of the people, and in this story show that we have  to respect the rights of the other people.

4) Which philosopher said thid famous sentence: " The ends justify the means". Look for an information about him.
Nicolo Machiavelli. He was an italian philosopher, humanist and writter based in Fibrance and the Renaisssance.

5) Who were the real Calvin and Hobbes.
Calvin was John Calvin, and Hobbes was Tomas Hobbes.

Presentación de filósofos.

Hoy me ha tocado presentar a mi (Pilar) el trabajo sobre Stoicism debido a que no pudimos hacerlo en los dias anteriores. Tras acabar nuestra presentación tedos los grupos expusieron las ideas principales de los filósofos para que los demás pudiéramos estudiarlo mejor para el examen. (Las idea principales de nuestro filósofo ya está puestas en otra entrada)

In modern democratic societies there is no arbitrary power but all authotity is subjected to limits established by law.

1)When does it become necessary to define a right?
We must talk about the right to wall or circulate freely because there were many types of authority that tended to eimit this freedom.

2)What are “excesses of authority”?
Is for example, when the teacher want to confiscate the mobile phone of a pupils and she doesn't have a right.

Hoy hemos comenzado un trabajo por grupos en los que tenemos  que preparar una exposición sobre un filósofo. Nuestro grupo escogió "Stoicism". Megan nos ayudó explicándonos las éticas de nuestro filósofo.
Nuestro trabajo no es de un filósofo en concreto, es sobre una universidad en la que estuvieron varios filósofos como Marco Aurelio o Zenon, que compartían la misma forma de pensar.
Hoy hemos comenzado por buscar información sobre la vida de algunos filósofos de esta universidad y montar algunas de las diapositivas.

Today we did a new work called Calvin and Hobbes that was related with the Golden Rule. We read a cartoon strip and then we did some questions. Pilar did this work with Matías and Beatriz with Rocío. We answer the following questions:

1. Briefly summerize the cartoon strip.
2. Explaing the meanind of Hobbes' quote (the tigger) in the second to last drawing.

Philosopher's Presentation

Miércoles 27 de abril

Hoy era el día en el que teniamos que exponer los trabajos sobre los filósofos.
Beatriz:
Mi grupo eramos Rubén, Eva, Manuel David, Claudia y yo. Nuestro filósofo era Aristóteles, a mi me tocó explicar las ideas éticas y creo que lo hice bastante bien, aunque estaba un poco nerviosa. Claudia explicó su vida, Rubén explico la época en la que vivió, Manuel David dijo alguno de sus libros y los explicó, y Eva dijo alguna de sus frases célebres. Finalizamos la presentación con un vídeo, donde se mostraban algunas de sus ideas éticas.

Pilar no asistió ese día a clase.

Today was the last day so we did all we can and we finish the presentation. Then we saw it and and we decide which part it was up to each.

Today we continued doing the presentation about the philosophers.
Beatriz :
In this class in my group, we have asked Megan about the ethical ideas of Aristotle, and we were taking notes. The main ethical idea of Aristotle are the virtues, and if you want to have a virtue, you have to follow the middle ground.

Pilar:
In this class we continued our work about Stoicism. We asked Megan about ethics of Stoicism. The principal idea about Stoicism was was to be free of suffering trought peace of mind.

Today Antonio says to the class that we have to choose one philosopher, look for some information, do a presentation, present it in class and finally do an exam.
We are divided in groups of 4 or 5 people. In my group, we are Eva Rufino Rubén Contreras, Claudia Jara, Manuel David Moya y Beatriz Romero de la Osa (me). An in my group we are Ana Reinoso, Mª Carmen Tejeiro, María Manzano and Mª del Pilar Quinta (me). Beatriz's group have choosen Aristotle and Pilar's goup have choosen Stoicism.In the presentation we have to include:

Today in class Megan asked us some questions related with The Golden Rule. Here you have the questions:

1. Are there any exceptions to the Golden Rule? (situations in which the rule has no been obeyed...)
2. Are there situations when it is rash to obey the Golden Rule?
3. Examples of daily situations in which we do obey the Golden Rulen?
4. Could we lie and at the same time, obey the Golden Rule?
5. If you witnessed someone treating another person badly, how might you convince them to change their ways... using the Golden Rule?

Today we are continue the questions about Human Rights. Thinking about the situation that we expained the last day we are answer the next questions:

1)What does it mean to be “entitled to” something?
To be " entlied to something " is that you can do something.

2)Describe how the rights of the student with the cell phone collide with other peopleś rights.
The teacher has right to have a good class without interruptions and the student has right to have a mobile phone, but if the mobile's of the student interrupting the class of the teacher, the right of the student collide with the right of the teacher.

The Golden Rule ( Sección bilingüe )

In this day we worked in a project about the Golden Rule and answered some questions about this:

1) What is the Golden Rule?
The Golden rule is a maximun ethical code or morality that esentially states either of the following:
- One should trate others as one would like other to treat oneself.

2) Why is the Golden rule important to discussing Human Rights?
Because is arguably the most essential basis for the modern concept of Human Rights.

3) In wich culture can we find the Golden Rule?
You can find the Golden Rule in western culture: Babylon, Egypt, Persia, India,Greece, Judea, China...

4)Why do we have to respect the Golden Rule?
Because if we don't respect the main ethic rule, we can't belive that the other people respect any ethic rule, and probably without ethics rules the world won't work well.

5) Is it necessary to belong to a religion in order to follow the Golden Rule?
You don't have to have religion valves to be a ethic person.

Lunes 14 de Marzo.

Today we are starting a work about Human Rights. In this work we have to answer some questions about this. Today Beatriz and me read the first part of the work and answered some questions.
In the first part of the work there is the next situation:
" In a grammar school classroom a teacher was talking and going through the lesson when she was interrupted by the musical tone of a mobile phone. The teacher headed towards the place where the sound came from. Sitting on a chair, a student was triying to switch off the mobile phone. The teacher said: " give me that phone" and the children said: " i told you to give me that phone".
The questions are:

1)What right does the student claim to have? 
He claim to use the mobile phone equal to his teacher.

What right does the teacher claim to have?
She claim to confiscate the student's mobile because she has right to have a class without interruptios.

This day was te International Women's day, and Megan was talking us about it, and about a famous philosopher, Simone de Beauvoir. This a summarize of the presentation:  

International Women's Day is a global day that we celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.Clara Zetkin, a German woman, began International Women’s Day in 1911, so this is the 100th anniversary.
Simone de Beauvoir,was french Existentialist Philosopher. She was born in Paris, in 1908. She wrote social commentaries, memoires, philosophy, and novels. Her most famous feminist work is The Second Sex which explores the condition of women within society. She thought abour the Existentialism, the school of thought that explores the nature of existence and the human condition.

In this day we corrected exercises about a book of Gandhi's life. Some months ago we corrected the firsts chapters about this book and now we are correcting the lasts chapters.
The next thing that we have to do is an exam about Gandhi's book.
I think with this book we are learn who was Gandhi and what he maked in his life for the people.

Exposición de diálogos.

Miércoles 23 de febrero.

Hoy hemos tenido que exponer un diálogo en inglés que ya llevabamos preparando Beatriz y yo desde hace algunos días. El trabajo consistía en habla sobre un tema relacionado con la ética en el que no estuviéramos de acuerdo y argumentáramos cada una su punto de vista de la situación.
Nuestro tema de diálogo era sobre una chica de unos 16 años que se había quedado embarazada de su novio. Pienso que hemos escogido este tema porque cada vez son más las jóves que quedan embarazadas a la hora de mantener relaciones con sus parejas y es todo un dilema el exponer la situación en la que se encuentra la jóven y el argumentar que es lo que debería hacer en un a situación como esa.

Apertura del blog

Lunes 21 de febrero

Hoy hemos dedicado la clase a crear un blog en el que diariamente debemos plasmar las actividades realizadas en clase. El blog podía ser individual o en parejas como es nuestro caso.
Primero debiamos crearnos una cuenta en google (g-mail), o también servía la cuenta de hotmail. Una vez creada la cuenta hicimos una entrada de prueba y Antonio nos estuvo explicando algunos usos del blog, ya que era una aplicación hasta el momento conocida por pocos alumnos de la clase.

Elecciones al consejo escolar.

Este año 2010-2011 se celebran las elecciones al consejo escolar de nuestro centro, de entre los que saldrán cinco representantes de alumnos que tedrán como plazo para presentarse del 16 al 27 de Octubre, y cuya elección se realizará en 17 de Noviembre.
Las únicas personas que pueden convocar una reunión al consejo escolar son el director o al menos un tercio del consejo escolar.
Los alumnos de los dos primeros cursos de la educación secundaria obligaroria no podrán participar en la elección o cese del director.
La próximas elecciones del Consejo Escolar se realizarán dentro de 2 años, debido al artículo 60 que es el que se encarga de regular el proceso de elección.

The article 12 is a children's right organisation in the UK. It's called articled 12 because is the name of the UN Convention on the right of the child. 24 people work for article 12 and they meet every six weeks. There are 500 members in this organisation and the most recent campaing is a big demostration in London against.

Irish people came to Britain to escape famine, and Jewis people came to escape antesemism. The inmigrants came to British colonies and former colonies in the Caribbean and Asia in the 1950s and 1960s.
West Indian started the Nothing Hill Carnival.
Curry is the most popular dish in Britain, and it comes from India.

The EU formed in 1952. The original members in the EU was France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Spain join the EU in 1986, and the European Parliament meet two cities: Brussels and Stranbourg.
The euro introduced in Europe in 2002.
In Kristen´s opinion the EU can help people to learn about other countries and to understand other people, their cultures and their customs.

Expulsión de los gitanos-rumanos de Francia

La nueva ley que ha tomado Francia pretende expulsar a los gitanos-rumanos de su país, no por discriminación según Francia, si no por reparticiones de ciudadanos en situación irregular. Este tratado ha ocasionado un conflicto entre Francia y la Comisión Europea, que no está de acuerdo con medida tomada por este país.
Varios portavoces de Francia como el ministro de inmigración francés, aseguran ante la prensa  que la expulsión de los gitanos-rumanos no se debe a su raza, si no a su situación irregular como ciudadanos. El 11 de Agosto comenzaban a desmantelarse los primeros campamentos de gitanos-rumanos. En total unas 1000 personas ya han sido expulsadas de Francia.
